Adam Selipsky was the CEO of Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud offering. He also was responsible for sustainability initiatives across Amazon, including achieving the company’s Climate Pledge commitments. Having previously led AWS marketing, sales, and support for 11 years, from 2005-2016, Selipsky helped launch and grow AWS from a start-up into a multi-billion dollar business. Prior to rejoining Amazon in 2021, Selipsky was most recently President and CEO of Tableau Software. He led Tableau through its acquisition by Salesforce, in what was the third largest software industry acquisition at the time. He and his wife are minority owners of the Seattle Sounders. Selipsky also serves on the Harvard Business School Board of Dean’s Advisors. He has an AB in government from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
David C. Parkes is the Dean and George F. Colony Professor of Computer Science at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). Parkes founded the EconCS research group at SEAS, which conducts theoretical and experimental research at the intersection of economics and computer science, exploring artificial intelligence and algorithms for social and economic impact. He has been elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Association for Computing Machinery, and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. Dean Parkes was the founding faculty co-director of the Harvard Data Science Initiative and of the Harvard Business Analytics program and was named a Harvard College Professor, a 5-year appointment that recognizes exemplary teaching. Following his M. Eng. in Engineering and Computing Science from the University of Oxford, Parkes received a Thouron Award to study at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science. He is the inventor or co-inventor on 17 patents.
Dr. Francesca Dominici is the Clarence James Gamble Professor of Biostatistics, Population, and Data Science at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Director of the Harvard Data Science Initiative at Harvard University. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and the International Society of Mathematical Statistics. In 2024, she was named by TIME100 Health as one of the most influential scientists in global health in the world. Before being appointed founding co-director of the Harvard Data Science Initiative, she was Senior Associate Dean for Research at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Dominici is also the founder and Principal Investigator (PI) for the National Studies on Air Pollution and Health Group (NSAPH), a multi-disciplinary group of faculty post-doctoral fellows from several academic institutions that rely on harmonized data assets to advance research on climate and AI. She is also one of the Principal Investigators of the only national research coordinating center on climate and health funded by the National Institute of Health.
